Some sad news.

It is with much sadness & disbelief that I write this post.

Yesterday I had some very sad news.
I read a post on The Digi Diva's blog from one of my team mates  informing the team of a post they had seen on the home page of The Digi Garden store.
It had been posted by Lisa (Jacqui's sister) advising that Jacqui owner and Artist of The Digi Garden had passed away.

Jacqui had suffered poor health for a while but none of us expected to hear such sad news. All of us are shocked and extremely saddened and I know Jacqui and her cute images will be missed by all.

I have only known Jacqui for a short while since becoming a Digi Diva. However this has been long enough for me to realise that she was a very talented, kind & generous Lady who will be sadly missed.
I have loved being a part of the Digi Garden Divas and I would like to thank Jacqui for allowing me to  be part of a wonderful team, working with such super cute images.

My thoughts and prayers are with Jacqui's family at this sad time & who was with her when she passed. And who should be very proud of her.

xXx

PS For anyone that has bought digi images recently there is a message on the Digi Garden website from Lisa (Jacqui's sister) advising of how to contact her.

Sunday Sketch & Stamp #141

Good Morning,

All the white stuff has melted here in Northampton, can't say I'm sorry as I don't like to drive in it & I have to go back to work tomorrow:(

Any way it's time to introduce a new challenge over at Sunday Sketch & Stamp
This week it's my sketch that we are challenging to work with.
And here it is:

Sponsoring us this week is the super Bugaboo

For my card I chose Theodore - Birthday Sign to work with.
I used my new copics to colour in the image, I'm really enjoying using them!
Then I did a bit of doodling round the edge

The paper is a digi that I printed off in grey scale, I edged it with a spellbinder die along one edge before mounting it onto the black mat. The sentiment was stamped using Dimension Fourth alphabet stamps, this was cut out with and mounted onto a mat that was cut with spellbinder dies. A piece of ribbon was wrapped around the mat before it was mounted onto the card blank.
I hope will join in this week's challenge!
For more inspiration hop on over to the challenge blog to see the beautiful creations the DT have been busy making.

Bling it on @ MAWTT

Good Morning,

It's time for a brand new challenge at Moving Along With The Times and this week sees the turn of Team A and it's the lovely Sue's turn to host the challenge and she has chosen the theme:

"Bling it on"
so we would like to see your creations with sparkle, glitter, gems, pearls, metallic etc SIMPLES!!

Here's my card that I made using Nesting Dolls digi on the Russia set from this week's sponsor Digi my World.

I thought the image was ideal to be used shaped as an easle card.. The image was sized to fit a 5.5" square which I cut out, I then cut round the top of the image leaving a white border. This was then mounted onto a larger piece of black card and again this was cut round leaving a black border all round the image.

The image was coloured with copics and to bling it up I added gems to the centres of the flowers and glamour dust under their chins.

Matching polka dot paper was mounted onto a black mat which was used as the stopper. Ribbon, more gems & a stamped sentiment was added to the stopper for that finishing touch.

We are sponsored this week by Digi my World

Prize is $10 dollar Voucher to spend in-store

Flowers

Good Morning,

Hope you are all well & keeping warm!
It's snowing at the moment here in Northampton, I'm glad I've got a week off & can stay indoors!
Wonder what I'll find to do!!!!!

Thought I would share a card with you that I made to order.
The brief was 'Happy Birthday Mum' & she likes flowers, I think I have both covered.

The flowers were cut with punches & the rolled roses were cut on the silhouette. The leaves were cut with a memory box die & on the silhouette. A mixture of gems & pearls have been added to the centre of the flowers. The butterflies were also cut on the silhouette, coloured with markers and glittered with glamour dust.

The aperture on this 8" card was cut with a spellbinder die, this obviously wouldn't go through all 3 layers so each layer was cut individually (quite tricky to get all 3 to line up) The top layer was then embossed with spell binders 'dainty dots' A4 embossing folder (couldn't do this before cutting the aperture as embossing flattened).
The sentiment is computer generated, cut with the same die as the aperture and placed on the inside of the card.

Quite liked the effect so thought I would make some 6" cards for my stock box. This time, to make it easier I cut the Sentiment out with a scalloped circle mat and mounted this to the front of the card.

Have a great day & stay warm

I'm now on 1 week break from work so it can do what it likes, I'll just stay home and play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My first DT creation for MAWTT

Good Morning,

It's finally here! My first post for MAWTT

They are a bunch of super talented girl's I feel privileged to be joining them, I'm sure to learn a trick or 2 from them, can't wait. The DT have been split into 2 teams, I am on team A & this weeks theme is:

Floral Delights (Anything with Flowers)

Here is my card

The image is from this weeks sponsor A Passion for Stamps who kindly gave the DT a digi of their choice.  I chose Cosmos which I coloured in using distress inks - peeled paint & victorian velvet that I applied with a water brush, the centre of the flower was coloured using a glitter gel pen.

The mats are white paper that have been coloured with the same distress ink, the mat for the image was cut out by hand after drawing round the die as the one for the image was the largest die in the set.
The paper was embossed with spellbinders reversible A4 folder 'dainty dots'
The sentiment is computer generated

The butterflies were cut on the silhouette and glittered with glamour dust.
