Dream Valley get Stitching

Good Morning,

I've had a very pleasing end of last week and weekend.
Seems like I've not had good news to share for ages!
Restoration came out Thursday and issued a certificate to say the house is dry (at last)
So on Saturday flooring was laid in the dining room and hall, this had been prematurely booked which until Friday looked as if would have to be cancelled. So you can imagine how happy I am, what a great birthday pressie! Yes it's my Birthday today.

Enough of me.
has a new challenge starting today
Stitching - real or faux

I've made something a little different for this challenge
A wee little Snowman

I cut the body, hat, boots and nose out of grey board then covered them in card. The edges were then sanded and inked and faux stitching was added to the body with a black pen. Black pearls were used for the buttons and eyes and glossy accents were applied to the nose. Bakers twine was used for the scarf and around the hat then a holly establishment was stamped from the Chloe boot stamp to add to the hat (after being glittered. Holes were punched with my big bite and brown string was used to hang boots on.
Hope you like!!!!!! I do, I love snowmen

And do we have an interesting challenge for you over at
Moving Along With The Times
It really got me thinking.
Ang (Mrs Duck) has chosen the theme which is:

Can you guess which lyrics I went with?

Coloured with - Markers
Papers - Raspberry Road, Honey Bee set

If you are not sure of the lyrics hop on over to the main challenge blog where you will find them as well as more ideas from the talented DT

Dream Valley Get Shapely!

Good Morning,

It's been 2 weeks since my last post and I must apologise for my lack of commenting. I have had lots going on of late what with health issues and lots of organising with visits from claim assessors. Good news was that I am fully covered but the bad news is the humidifiers have been on for 5 weeks now and they are not coming to check them for another 2 weeks. I'm hoping they will give the thumbs up then so that I can get straight for Christmas.

has a new challenge starting today, the theme being
Shaped Cards
no squares or rectangles

Di's Digi Downloads
Di's Digis are sponsoring the challenge and are offering digis of your choice as the prize

I used my cameo to cut a card base for a card I had ordered for a friends Auntie who has just celebrated her 100th Birthday.
I then cut the layers on the cameo in papers printed from a Dreamees CD which I then faux stitched round using a fine liner. Decoration was the added using flowers and leaves stamped from a Dreamees stamp set and a computer generated sentiment.

Hop on over to the main challenge blog for more shapely inspiration here
