Happy 40th

Good Evening All,

Hope you are all well.

It's been raining all day here, the good thing about that, there's no need to water the garden.

I would like to share a card with you that was an order. The customer chose the Sassy Studio  image 'Martini Pin Up' which I've had for a while but never used. I've always worried about grounding the image, didn't want it to look as though she was floating mid air. Well it was time to challenge myself.

I coloured the image in with copics & chalks, I glittered the dress and added glossy accents to the glass, I used a spellbinder die to cut out the image using the out of the box technique to cut out the leg. This was mounted onto a black faux nestie mat with a ribbon positioned to give her something to sit on, wrapping it round the back of the background paper. A spellbinder die was used to cut out a borer that was tucked under the ribbon and the same die was used to cut small pieces that was added to the top of the card.

The sentiment was computer generated and cut out with a spellbinder circle die and mounted onto a SB scalloped circle mat. The flowers were cut out with a mixture of joy craft dies and a punch, these were layered up and a mixture of card candi and viva pearls were added to the centres.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Paint it Black @ Songbird Challenge

Good Evening'

A very white one, and no it didn't wait till I got home!
I get very anxious about driving in it so now after  a 2 1/2 hour drive home (usually takes 45min max) I'm in agony with my back through being so tense.
I'm now on 1 week break from work so it can do what it likes, I'll just stay home and play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My card today is one I made for an order a while ago but thought I would post as it fits the brief for the challenge over @ Songbird Challenge which closes a short while so I'll make it quick.

Image - Sassy Studio's (steampunk Victoria)
Colouring medium - Spec's
Black card - Edged with spellbinder die & embossed with spellbinder 'Dainty Dots' folder
This was laced together with red organza ribbon - stash
Flowers - Memory box die (cherry blossom)
Flourishes - Marrianne die (not sure what it's called)
Sentiment - computer generated

Sunday Sketch & Stamp #118

Good Morning,

It's time for a new challenge over @ Sunday Sketch & Stamp. This week the sketch has been designed by the lovely Mari.
But first I must say what a great day Team GB had yesterday, didn't they do well! I didn't , I was glued to the TV but my excuse is it's only for 2 weeks.

Well onto my card:
I have used an image from this weeks sponsor Sassy Studio Designs  - Chrissys Prom. I have used 'the out of the box' technique to cut out the image and paper pieced the dress, I have then used promarkers to colour her in. The papers are digi downloads from sassy designs - Elegance, I printed out a sheet which I used for the fancy spellbinders die cut behind the image and also to make the flowers, these were made by tearing a circle of paper into a spiral then rolled up using a quilling tool. The leaves were cut on the silhouette.

Hop on over and look at the wonderful creations team 2 have made to inspire you.
I'm looking forward to seeing what all you talented people out there create

I would like to enter the following:

I love ProMarkers Challenge - Spots & stripes
Paper pretties - Seeing double - use 2 or more designer papers
Crafty ribbon challenge - Seeing spots & dots

Happy crafting
