Songbird Challenge #31: Happy New Year

I have been a rubbish blogger recently, only posting DT cards, and a couple of them have been late!

I have also been an equally bad commenter. I do come visit your blogs but never seem to have the energy to do much more than that! I even realised the other day that I did not post any festive wishes to my much valued followers, so here goes:

Hope you all have a very happy 2014.

Talking of New Year, that's the theme for the new challenge over at Songbird Challenge.
Here my card:

I used a Spellbinder die that I cut out and embossed 6x then linked them together to form a panel for the top of my card. I then used a piece of embossed paper at the bottom of the card to which I added a sentiment that was cut on the silhouette. A ribbon was applied across the join, tucking this behind the black matt before being added to the card blank. A bow, flowers, leaves, beads and a butterfly was added for that finishing touch. I was quite pleased with the outcome.

Hop on over to the challenge blog for more super examples from the talented team.

We Wish You a Merry Christmas

Good Afternoon,

I can't believe it, this is the first time I have been late posting a DT card.
This should have been posted yesterday but I was in bed all day & night after my 3rd treatment, the side effects seem to be getting worse!

Anyway enough of that I'm here now with my last DT post for Songbird Challenge before the Man in Red arrives.
Guess what the theme is!

Merry Christmas Everybody

So we would like to see your Christmas themed creations.

Our Christmas challenge is sponsored by Kenny K, who is offering 5 digis to our lucky winner, who will be chosen at random from all our entries.

The DT were given some images to use
I chose Mistletoe

The image was coloured with markers with sparkle added with glamour dust & a little glitter gel pen. The papers were some I had printed off from last year, I think they were Nit Wits, (my scrap box is one sheet lighter!!!!!!!) The sentiment is also one I had printed off I think that was from a Do Crafts CD. All was matted onto red card, a little bakers twine and card candy was used embellish and I even managed a bit of faux stitching.

Don't forget this challenge runs until the New Year so plenty of time to get your entries in. Why not hop on over here for more inspiration.

Better late than never!!!!

Die Another Day @ Songbird

 Good Morning all,

Welcome to my blog this Tuesday morning and a big hello and thank you to my new follower Tracy.
Hope you like what you see!

Today over at Songbird Challenge there is a great new musical challenge starting:

'Die Another Day'

so we would like to see you creations using dies.

We are sponsored this fortnight by the fabby:

I have used one of their images 'Caroling snowmen', aren't they just so sweet!

I decided to make a shaker card and used Glamour dust & Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Jewels behind the acetate to create a snowy scene, ideal for a little one don't you think?

Dies I have used are:
Spellbinders - Circle, scalloped circle, inverted scalloped circle

Image - 'Caroling Snowmen' from Meljens
Colouring medium - Copics
Papers - Polka Doodles Jingle Jangle CD
Card - Silver mirri, Green coordinations
Glamour dust & Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Jewels

Your Favourite Song @ Songbird

Good Morning Crafters,

Hope you all had a good weekend & those of you that went to the NEC treated yourself to lots of goodies. I never made it this year so felt compelled to have a spend on line, can't wait to get my parcel!!!

Today see's the start of a new challenge @ Songbird Challenge today with a great theme

'Your Favourite Song'

We are sponsored by Pink Gem Designs
the DT was offered a digi of their choice to create their card for this challenge.
I chose Jolly Robins to create my card to resemble:

'When The Red Red Robin Comes Bob Bob Bobbing Along'

I went for a CAS design printing the image and a sentiment out to fit on a 5.5" piece of card.
I coloured the image in with Copics,  glitter gel pens & glamour dust.
I matted this onto gold, then red card before adding to the card base.

Forgot to say I added glossy accents to the glass.

I then added a parchment & glamour dusted layered snowflake with a gem in the centre but couldn't make up my mind with or without. Your thoughts would be good!

The trouble is now, I keep singing!! Not good!!!!

Why not join in this fortnights challenge and get singing too!
Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Have a great day!

I would like to enter:

Oldie but a Goodie - CAS Christmas
Sweet Stamping - Christmas is coming
Crimbo Crackers - Christmas words
Divas by design - Use a digi

Songbird

Good Morning,

It seems to have been ages since I've blogged as my last 2 posts have been scheduled far in advance  due to hospital appointments & treatments. This is also scheduled but only written over the last couple of days.

I am here today with my first challenge with Songbird Challenges.
Not sure if you're familiar with this challenge but each challenge is linked to the name of a song.
This week's song is:

'Dancing Queen'
so we would like to see creations including dancing or a crown or both

This week's fabby sponsor is Saturated Canary who is offering the winner 2 digis of their choice

Krista kindly gave the DT members an image of their choice, I chose the wonderful Zorana a dancing gypsy girl, isn't she just a cutie!

I coloured the image in with Copics & chalks. The backing papers are from Raspberry Road  'Timeless Victorian' collection.

The crown was cut out on the silhouette in kraft card to match the mats. I then added a bit of frantage for a bit of interest & an excuse for me to have a bit of a play!!!
The bunting was aslo cut on the silhouette in kraft which I added frantage to and in white with small crowns cut out of which I coloured with copics to match the image.

Cream lace was added along with some flowers for that finishing touch.

Hop on over to the main challenge blog for some super inspiration from the established DT team and the 5 Newbies (of which I am one). Then get crafting and join in this week's super themed challenge.
