We're HAPPY @ MAWTT

Good morning my crafty friends,
I know I have been a bad blogger of late, I'm blaming my return to work for this. Due to the type of work I do I have been given an admin job till I feel confident enough to go back on the wards. The only trouble is the job is completely new to me, requires lots of concentration & is computer based, so by the time I get home the laptop is the last thing I want to see!!! So please accept my apologies and bare with me.

Judith is hosting a new challenge today with Team A over at
Her chosen theme is:
'Happy'
Make a card with the word Happy on it!
Nice easy one this week & Judith has put together a surprise goody bag for one lucky entrant.

I have used the Cosmos image from A Passion for Stamps. I coloured it  yellow as I think this is a 'HAPPY' colour. The card base was cut with a grand scallop circle, the mats were cut with the Martha Stewart circle cutter. The dotty mat on the base of the card was embossed with the 'dainty dot' embossing folder from spellbinders are it was cut.

Hop on over to the main challenge blog for more super ideas from the talented DT. You might like to visit their blogs too which you can do by clicking on their name,s they all love to receive comments.

It's Sketchy @ MAWTT

Good Morning Afternoon,
As publish this did not. Not sure whether it was my fault or Mr Blogger.

Today I am here to tell you new challenge at
We have a sketch for you this week from the lovely Hazel:

It's a super sketch with so many possibilities.
Here is what I did with the sketch:

The image is from Passion for Stamps & is called 'Cosmos'. I added the sentiment before printing off making sure it would fit the circle die I intended to use. I then printed off the flower heads again which I cut out and layered up to give a bit of dimension. The image was coloured with markers and distress stickles were added to the flower heads which unfortunately changed the colour slightly. The papers are from Shabby Princess and were a free download some time ago but possibly still available

Laurie has very kindly put up this lovely embellishment set  as prize this week
So hop on over to the challenge blog for more great inspiration from my talented teamies and get those entries in. Can't wait to see your creations!

Happy Birthday MUM

Good Morning everyone,

Hope you are all enjoying this Bank Holiday & surprisingly the sunshine that has shown itself!

I thought I would share a card I made for my Mum's birthday which was yesterday. She loves pink, simple & flowers so this is what I came up with.

I made a scalloped circle card base using my grand dies from spellbinders, then cut an extra single circle for the card front. The card base was then scored and folded to form an easel card

The image is Cosmos from A Passion for Stamps which I resizes and added the sentiment before printing off. This was painted using distress inks. This was then cut using the circle cutter from We R Memory Keepers as was the embossed circle on the base of the card and 2 kraft card mounts.

Kraft card was then bordered with a Martha Stewart punch and an embossed strip was then added to this along with a ribbon and bow. This was then applied to the card using foam pads to act as the stopper.

Enjoy the rest of this sunny Bank Holiday!

My first DT creation for MAWTT

Good Morning,

It's finally here! My first post for MAWTT

They are a bunch of super talented girl's I feel privileged to be joining them, I'm sure to learn a trick or 2 from them, can't wait. The DT have been split into 2 teams, I am on team A & this weeks theme is:

Floral Delights (Anything with Flowers)

Here is my card

The image is from this weeks sponsor A Passion for Stamps who kindly gave the DT a digi of their choice.  I chose Cosmos which I coloured in using distress inks - peeled paint & victorian velvet that I applied with a water brush, the centre of the flower was coloured using a glitter gel pen.

The mats are white paper that have been coloured with the same distress ink, the mat for the image was cut out by hand after drawing round the die as the one for the image was the largest die in the set.
The paper was embossed with spellbinders reversible A4 folder 'dainty dots'
The sentiment is computer generated

The butterflies were cut on the silhouette and glittered with glamour dust.
