Nearly Cream on Cream!

Good Evening,

Thought I'd pop by to share the card I made my Mum for Christmas. I've been meaning to make a white on white card for a while now as I really like the effect. I think they can look very classy but I have struggled putting one together and have always given up.

I was given a good amount of pearlescent cream paper some time ago & recently came across it when looking for something else. I then used this to make a layered bauble using spellbinders Heirloom 2011 dies.

I decided to use the same paper embossed with dainty dots A4 folder as my card base & matted this onto gold card. To match this I cut off the outer border or the larger bauble, cut another out in the gold card & used this to mount the layered bauble on. I then used the same two papers to cut out a Spellbinders Poinsettia & Crafters Companion ivy.
Nearly cream on cream! If only I had resisted the touch of gold.

A Little Colour Inspiration @ MAWTT

 Good Morning my crafty friends,

Hope you are all well and big hugs to those that are not.
Are we all ready for the Big Man's visit?
I still need to get everything wrapped, so much for wrapping as I buy!!!!!!

There's a new challenge starting over at Moving Along With The Times with Team A
Hosting the challenge is The Boss Hazel who has chosen a colour inspired theme

antiqued bouquet
I took this opportunity to make my first cross card.
I wanted something special for my dear Sister who has been with me every step of the way through my hospital visits/treatments. She even cleaned my house for me before my first treatment so that I did not have to worry if I was unwell.

I have used Heidi, a digi from Wee Stamps that I coloured with markers, chalks and a touch of glamour dust

The papers are from Raspberry Road, the pinky one has had distressed with TH's distress inks
All been matted onto kraft card and the triangle mats were punched with 'Diamond Swing' punch from Tonic

The flowers are a mixture of brought and handmade.
The small roses are brought, I coloured them with markers to match the image, the wire stem I left attached and wound it round a pokey tool to add a bit of interest to the foliage.
The larger rose is made using a circle of paper that I tore and rolled after colouring with a marker. The smaller flowers are a double layer of a punched flower with a viva pearl centre.
The leaves were cut out using a Tattered Lace Die from the foliage collection.

The insert had a verse printed onto it using Photoshop. The corners were rounded and tabs were cut out on the silhouette and attached using brads. A glamour dusted butterfly. vintage ribbon bow and a sentiment were added to finish off the design.

I really enjoyed making this card and my Sister loved it.

This challenge runs for 2 weeks so maybe you can make your entry with some new stash The Man in Red brings you!!!!!!!!
Hop on over to the challenge blog for more wonderful samples using this colour combo.

Sunday Sketch & Stamp #187

Good Morning,

Something a bit different from me today.
I've been playing with my gilding flakes, not sure what I think.
I love the look when I see other peeps creations but never happy with what I produce!

I've used sketch #165 from Sunday Sketch & Stamp

As it's a free week this week you can choose any past sketch for your entry for this challenge which runs to the New Year

I have used Black card, a panel of which I have embossed. I used the Chronology stamp set that was free with a mag earlier this year. Gilding flakes were added to the images and the card used as mats.

Hop on over to the challenge blog to see what sketches the rest of the DT have chosen to use.

Happy Sunday!

TPC

Good morning my crafty friends,

I can't believe how quick the week's come round.
Friday already which means a new challenge over at Totally PaperCrafts with team B
The lovely Lisa is hosting the challenge this week and has chosen a super theme:

'Christmas/non traditional colours'

I went with rust, beige and kraft with a touch of gold.
The image is 'Snowman Chorus' from Ladybug Ink who is sponsoring the challenge this week.
The image was coloured with a mixture of markers, distress inks & stickles.
This was then mounted behind a frame cut out using 2 sizes of bauble dies from Spellbinders as was the computer generated sentiment.

This was mounted onto HOTP papers using foam pads along with a poinsettia cut out & embossed using a spellbinder die.

It's worth hopping on over to the main challenge blog to see what other colour combos my teamies have used.
Also there is a DT call which is well worth a look! A New Year a new challenge, go on try out!!!!!

We Wish You a Merry Christmas

Good Afternoon,

I can't believe it, this is the first time I have been late posting a DT card.
This should have been posted yesterday but I was in bed all day & night after my 3rd treatment, the side effects seem to be getting worse!

Anyway enough of that I'm here now with my last DT post for Songbird Challenge before the Man in Red arrives.
Guess what the theme is!

Merry Christmas Everybody

So we would like to see your Christmas themed creations.

Our Christmas challenge is sponsored by Kenny K, who is offering 5 digis to our lucky winner, who will be chosen at random from all our entries.

The DT were given some images to use
I chose Mistletoe

The image was coloured with markers with sparkle added with glamour dust & a little glitter gel pen. The papers were some I had printed off from last year, I think they were Nit Wits, (my scrap box is one sheet lighter!!!!!!!) The sentiment is also one I had printed off I think that was from a Do Crafts CD. All was matted onto red card, a little bakers twine and card candy was used embellish and I even managed a bit of faux stitching.

Don't forget this challenge runs until the New Year so plenty of time to get your entries in. Why not hop on over here for more inspiration.

Better late than never!!!!

Sunday Sketch & Stamp #185

Morning my crafty friends,

How chilly is it at the moment? I was so cold on Friday afternoon the only way I could get warm was to lay under the duvet. The only trouble is, I then fell  asleep.

The reason I'm here today is to tell you there is a new challenge starting over at Sunday Sketch & Stamp. Kim has given us a great sketch to play with & here it is:
What a great sketch Kim!
You can embellish and add a sentiment as you wish.
Here's what I did with sketch:

Did you notice that I rotated the sketch?
Reason being I stuck the lines on not realising the birds were laying on their sides. I was going to try and remove them but thought it would be easier to rotate.

Image - Saturated Canary 'Thank You'
Colouring medium - Copics & Chalks
Papers - First Edition, New Leaf
Hearts - MB die
Flowers - punches & dies
Leaves - Tattered Lace 'foliage die set'
Frantage

For more inspiration hop on over to the main challenge blog to see what my teamies have done with the sketch

OMG, just realised it's December & only 23 sleeps to go!!!!!!!!

Happy Sunday!
