Songbird Challenge #31: Happy New Year

I have been a rubbish blogger recently, only posting DT cards, and a couple of them have been late!
I have also been an equally bad commenter. I do come visit your blogs but never seem to have the energy to do much more than that! I even realised the other day that I did not post any festive wishes to my much valued followers, so here goes:
Hope you all have a very happy 2014.
Talking of New Year, that's the theme for the new challenge over at Songbird Challenge.
Here my card:
I used a Spellbinder die that I cut out and embossed 6x then linked them together to form a panel for the top of my card. I then used a piece of embossed paper at the bottom of the card to which I added a sentiment that was cut on the silhouette. A ribbon was applied across the join, tucking this behind the black matt before being added to the card blank. A bow, flowers, leaves, beads and a butterfly was added for that finishing touch. I was quite pleased with the outcome.
Hop on over to the challenge blog for more super examples from the talented team.

  1. Not surprised you were pleased Carole.Your card is gorgeous.

  2. I had forgotten all about Abba's Happy New Year and have been humming it since seeing the Challenge!! Great card Carole and I hope you are feeling a little better xx

  3. Beautiful elegant card Carole - so stylish.

  4. Now that is one elegant card Carole - really sylish!! I must go find the Abba song, I know many of them - but not that one!

Hope you are feeling better soon.
